From the Liner Notes…

What a journey it has been to finally arrive at this point. I’m so grateful for all of those who have kept me wanting to press forward and record these songs.

While Before the Rain has been over four years in the making, some of the songs (like Autumn Leaves) go back to when I was just starting to get my feet wet in composition.

At seven years old, I had just quit my first year of piano lessons out of pure boredom. I had NO intentions of starting lessons again…

But only a year later, after witnessing an extraordinary, spontaneous performance by a friend at my birthday party, did I catch the spark of inspiration. That was the moment I knew I wanted piano lessons again—and it was not too long before I had a teacher.

I really never understood why I was playing everyone else’s compositions and never creating anything of my own. So I began experimenting on the piano during those days—writing down a few of my very first compositions for fun. Although I didn’t end up caring too much for my piano lessons at the time, I believe it was those lessons which really helped to open the door of musical composition for me. It wasn’t long before I was hooked—creating music quickly became my passion.

As I look back, I am so grateful for the experience that these lessons have given me. My family and friends have definitely been such a HUGE encouragement to me over the years. Without this, I fear I would have given up, lost in the rough seas of self-criticism.

But quite frankly, I also believe with all my heart that my Heavenly Father, Yahweh, has had it in His plan to enable me to play and compose music. I really am forever indebted to Him—His wonderful blessings are so numerous and beyond my ability to count!

Thank you for being part of this amazing journey! I really could not do this without you.

Enjoy the rain…
